The tools for data collection included both primary and secondary
sources.
Primary data was collected through close-ended interviews,
questionnaires, open-ended interviews, and discussions with Principals/
Headmasters/ Teachers/ Vocational Teachers/ Staff. This included
audio-visual recording of the willing participants.
Secondary data, aligned with the objectives of the study, was obtained
from research papers, parliamentary debates, policy documents,
legislations, newspaper articles, and official websites.
Tools used for data analysis are Excel and SPSS.

STUDY AREA

The present study investigates previously unexplored areas of District
Budgam (Figure 1) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and
provides an illustrated account of the implementation and impact of
NEP-2020. The district is divided into nine tehsils Budgam Beerwah,
Chadoora, Khansahib, Chrarisharief, B K Pora, Khag, Narbal and
Magam and 13 zones: Soibug, Khag, Hardpanzoo, Khanshaib, Charar-
I-Sharief, Beerwah, Budgam, Dreygham, Narbal, B. K. Pora, Nagam,
and Magam.
District Budgam is one of the 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir,
located in the northernmost part of India. The Union Territory is
bordered by Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan and lies between 32.17°
and 36.58° North latitude and 73.26° and 80.30° longitude from east to
west. The Kashmir Valley, 100 sq. km wide, spans an area of 15,520.3
sq. km and is surrounded by the Pir Panjal range and the Zanskar range.
